A curtain mayday.
Chad and I haven't had window coverings in our bedroom...on the first floor...mere feet from our neighbor's driveway...facing our semi-busy street...for 5 weeks. We don't turn the lights on at night. We stumble around in the dark hoping the neighbors can't see our naked buns by the light of the street lamp that shines across the street.
I am thinking (with help from my bedroom designer...aka Christy) that I want to do bamboo blinds with a sheer curtain panel over it.
I found these....yes or no?
Are they too dark? The reviews say they are a tad lighter than the picture. Hmmm...
And then I LOVE LOVE LOVE these curtains....but need to find something less expensive. It is a silk panel in the chevron pattern in grey and white. They are to die for!! LOVE!!!

Could I still do the bamboo blind? Or no blind? Hmmmm....
There are so many options and I am not set in stone on either option.
Help me...again!!!

Love the 2nd choice, so romantic!
1. I am loving that print, but it's warm. And while I love the interplay between warm/cool in some cases, ALL of your textiles are cool in that room (if I remember correctly).
2.You definitely have more of a spa-feel going on in there as well and I think that particular print, while being incredibly awesome in its own right, would make your room be all like "Whuuuuuut?" If you want to incorporate something with that kind of feel, you're going to have to add some other elements to the room (art, add'l throw pillows, etc.) for it to work.
3.I don't know how much you're budgeting for window dressings, but that fabric is likely going to run you $45+ per floor length panel and that's not taking into account extra yardage needed for the 25" repeat. Just fyi. Not saying that's too much because I am currently wandering the Window Covering Wasteland and haven't found a single thing worth considering for less than $30ish. And getting EXACTLY what you want and what works for the room is definitely worth a few dollars as long as it doesn't become window gluttony.
Maybe we need to hit up Textile Studio? Or have they gone all Damask & Tassles?
And I'd personally want something a little bolder than the silk chevron panels. They're lovely, but a little "safe" in my opinion.
I agree with Cinnamon. I love the chevron panels but think you need just a leeetle bit more pizazz. And I personally think bamboo shades work with anything. They're pretty neutral. If you want something super cheapo under some curtains, just get those temporary, cut-it-yourself blinds. They're actually quite nice for something that's supposed to be temporary.
we have those bamboo blinds in a lot of our rooms & like them alot. they are very modern & neutral.
Seeing your bedroom furniture & bedding (ahem...FINALLY! thanks for posting), i don't know that the fun fabric is quite right. I think you should look for the same type of thing but in a cool undertone (the background of that fabric is soooo cream/yellow).
Love the bamboo, but please note: I had those up in my old house in the dining room. It wasn't until a couple months after moving in that my sister advised me that she could see me PERFECTLY through the blinds. I tested it out. Sure enough, even though they were down, my every move was documented for anyone watching. What you have pictured here looks identical to what I used to have. After that fiasco, I bought wood-slate blinds, that blocked out peeping toms, but still gave me the "wood" look that I loved.

I flippin love those fabric curtains. I want them for my bedroom. Where are they from? I totally think you could do them with the bamboo blinds.
