pantry challenge

Here goes....a challenge for myself. I am going to make dinner this week (starting yesterday) only out of the groceries I currently have. No grocery shopping except for milk and bread (madeline needs bread for sandwiches for lunch)! Who is with me???

Menu for Sunday!
We had meatballs that I made up. It was a pound of hamburger. A half packet of Lipton onion soup mix. Some bread crumbs. An egg. Some ketchup. Made them into balls and then cooked them on the stove. Very yummy. Chad made spaghetti with diced tomatoes and parmesan, and a littel basil and oregano. Oh, and garlic. It was on odd combination but it was good.

Menu for Monday!
I cooked the end of a bag of bourbon chicken chunks from Costco. And I made homemade mac 'n cheese using 4 half-eaten mix matched bags of shredded cheese (mild cheddar, sharp cheddar, mexican blend, and colby jack.) The mac'ncheese was a little weird and you can't go wrong with bourbon chicken chunks from Costco.

I am not sure what we will have the rest of the week but I definitely have some ideas!!

I do this for 1 month every year to help clear all the old stuff out of the cupboard. I limit my shopping to $30 a week during that month and have come up with some of my best recipes during these times. I hope it goes well for you.
